GUIDE · Q4 CHECKLIST

Q4 is won before Black Friday, not during it.

A dated checklist for Amazon.com and Amazon.de listings: what to audit in late October, what to freeze during peak weeks, and what to review in January.

Late October: the structural pass

The weeks before November are for edits that change how a listing ranks and reads. In 2026, Black Friday falls on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30, so anything you want indexed and approved for those days should be finished in October.

  1. Audit every top seller first. Run the listing audit on the ASINs that carry your Q4 revenue. Fix title overruns against the 75-character rule for most non-Media categories, then re-check each fix with the title checker.
  2. Fill Item Highlights completely. The 125-character Item Highlights field is new enough that many listings still ship empty or duplicated. Check each block with the Item Highlights checker.
  3. Re-order bullets for gifting. Move the gift-relevant fact (set of two, gift wrap, size) up one position for the season, and push warranty language down.
  4. Localize the German versions. If you sell on Amazon.de, Q4 is the worst time to run a machine-translated listing. Work through the localization guide and keep the German title inside the same limit.
  5. Log every change. Record the field, the old value, and the new value. The CSV template doubles as that log.

Black Friday week (Nov 23–30): freeze and watch

During the peak week, stop structural edits. Every change now competes with approval queues and re-indexing. What is left is cheap and reversible: price and coupon checks, stock levels, and a daily scan of your top ASINs for suppressed or broken content. If a title does get suppressed, restore the last logged version rather than rewriting under pressure.

December: shipping cutoffs beat keyword work

After Cyber Monday, buyer intent shifts from deals to delivery dates. German shoppers in particular buy against the December 24 gift deadline, so delivery messaging in bullets and A+ content does more work than new keywords. Keep the change log running; you will want it in January.

January: reconcile the quarter

In January, diff your change log against what actually shipped in Q4: which edits held, which were reverted, and which ASINs still fail the audit. That diff is the input for next year's Q4 pass, and the audit report gives you a per-field record to start from.

Frequently asked questions

When should Q4 listing work be finished?

Finish structural edits (titles, Item Highlights, bullets, A+ content) before the Black Friday week so changes clear indexing and approval with time to spare. During peak weeks, only make small, reversible fixes.

What should I check first on a Q4 listing?

Start with the title: it is the highest-visibility field and the one most affected by the 75-character limit for most non-Media categories. Then check Item Highlights, bullet order, and backend search terms.

Does the 75-character title limit apply on Amazon.de too?

Amazon announced the limit for most non-Media categories, and sellers apply it across marketplaces, but rule profiles can differ by category and marketplace. Verify the current rule for your German category before publishing.

How do I track listing changes during Q4?

Keep a dated change log with the original and new value for every field you touch. The CSV audit template gives you a per-ASIN record you can diff after each round of edits.
